Well, since this is an argument question, you can say yes or no. Just make sure you back up your answer with evidence. I would tend to say no.

Having taken AP US History and scored a five on the exam this past year, I still couldn't help you much. We never had any "Thematic Connection-Conflict" questions. My guess would be that it has to do with conflict going on in the colonies. Or maybe they just mean that the question has been argued on both sides.

Well, I would just BS my way through the question and make sure you have evidence.

Kinda haphazardly established because pilgrims left out of juridiction to Plymouth rock and started their little fun. Then early Virginia settlements had cold winters and starvations where a lot of people died because they didn't know how to survive (harvest and grow food) in the winter. Some colonies wouldn't ask the help of Native Americans because of prejudice. Also you might want to check out to see if the "Governors" were any good at expanding and controling their colonies.

But this isn't nearly enough to help ya out. Try to think of what the themes are in the chapter and what was the overall idea of colonies and their establishments.

The ones that were well planned ventures would connect somehow thematically, for example, they had a staple crop, water supply, natural resources, etc.

And then the ones that were haphazards would somehow connect also.. Maybe a few of the colonies did bad because of starvation while others might have had a corrupt colonial ruler.

Then you could say was in conflict is maybe that the ideas that drove the colonies were all for expanind but maybe some regions had different ways of doing that.

sorry if you're confused, just take a few moments and try to remember what you are supposed to get out of the chapers.

Sorry book got bury some where and can't remember author. Some of the colonies were highly planned out. England got into a war and there was fight for political power in England that mess things up.
