Israel - Lebanon situation, a friend of mine been kidnapped (soldier).

Always - ALWAYS tell the police ASAP - they aren't stupid they will have dealt with hundreds of these situations whereas the average person will never have done so.
Having seen update - very difficult - without getting into the politics of the situation - the person kidnapped is still a person and deserves to be treated with the respect due to any human being.

if they kindnapped somebody, I'd try to talk them out of it.
If somebody got kidnapped, I'd let the police know and help with investigation.
If somebody was kidnapped by aliens, I'd let them talk, do not contradict them and slowly move to the nearest exit.

Can you be more specific? Are we talking about a violent abduction here or a mother who stole her kids away from an abusive, drunken father?

your question is unclear, but if you meant what would you do if you knew someone kidnapped someone, i'd tell the police!
