I need some cheap stuff here people!
I've checked out good will, thrift stores, garage sales, but I didn't have the best of luck finding what I need.
I just started working for a Law Firm, so the dress code is professional.
I lost all of my things in a fire 3 months ago, and can't afford to replace them. Does anyone know of a website to get free clothes or a location in Oklahoma City?

Well you were looking in the right places...perhaps the wrong racks. Learn ot piece pieces together. One basic top that works with three skirts or slacks...good fabrics and good cuts. Don't overlook great heathery, tweeds, wide wale courderoys in the mens section...lots of sample sizes never worn items. Layer with vest sweaters...again look in the men's section. Under jacket who would know the difference. I bring lots of things to the Goodwill and am totally driven to go through the place and am amazed at what people give away. Can't beat those prices either. Too, my son has a closet full of Harris Tweeds that would cost a fortune if bought in Ireland. Patience, give it time and keep going back...there is new stuff every week. Good luck.

There are places that can help. Call a few churches in your area to see if they have a clothes bank. If not keep trying garage sales and thrift shops in better neighborhoods. They are more likely to have nice things. In the meantime get a decent black skirt and some decent blouses at your local thrift shop and keep hunting. Be sure to ask friends and relatives if they have stuff you can borrow until you get back on your feet. Even the red cross may know of places to get free clothing since yours were lost in a fire. Good luck-

Oohhh im sorry you lost your things. What you can do to just make it simple but professional, if you have black pants or a black skirt, to your knees, wear it with a black top. And add a black or white belt if you have one, or just a simple thick white or black ribbon, that will make it look like a belt. Black on black is professional.

The places where you will most likely find professional suiting and not pricey, is at Kmart, target will have it for sure, and searching at thrift stores will help you find alot also.

You can also use the clothes you have now. Lets say you have a shirt thats white, wear it with black pants and put the shirt inside your pants. Same with any other color, but if the dress code is stricly black/white, than you have to keep searching. But if its not, anything will do, just make sure you put any type of blouse or shirt inside your pants. It gives it a sophisticated and professional look.
But im sure youre boss will understand if you tell them your situation, its only temporarily until you get some more cash and youll be ready to go.
Dont worry too much, keep shopping, use your imagination and you'll figure something out.

GooD LucK!

Just buy two pairs of nice black pants at Walmart or Target. Sometimes, you can catch a cleareance sale at the GAP (I've bought some nice trousers for 9.99$.) The slacks or trousers are probably going to be about 15$ a pair. Then, the button up fitted shirts are about 12.99$, buy the shirts in white. You can't go wrong. I mean, you'll look plain for a few weeks until you get paid to buy a few more shirts. Just make sure you have more shirts than because no one will really notice the pants -even though you've worn them in a row- rather than the shirts. You don't need a ton of clothes to look nice. Just groom yourself neatly, nice and makeup neat. There are lots of end of summer cleareance right now..good luck.

sorry about the fire. my mom used to work in a law firm and she dressed really casually. she's also really smart so they kept her because they got their work done. so if you're smart and you ycontribute to the company then they'll accept you even if you don't wear Dolce & Gabbana. you can explain your situation and after you've accumulated money then you can buy more clothes. just go to target for the time being and in 3-4 weeks ou can buy more expensive clothes when you get money. good luck and hope that helps!

You lost all of your things?

Lol.

That's funny, but sad.

Goodwill? Gross.

You could try a really cheap store like K-mart or something..

I'm not sure.

Dana Buchman, St. John & Ellen Tracey make nice business clothing.

But I think they're beyond your budget.
