Have you been living in a cave? The reasons were all spelled out in the newspaper article - amongst other places. He verbally attacked Matt Lauer, and spouted off about Brooke Shields having postpartum depression and actually having the NERVE to consult a doctor and take medications. It's against Scientology rules - as if it's any of his business. Paramount felt that his behavior this past year has reflected badly on them, and because of it, the negative publicity surrounding this certifiable nut case, has cost them millions.

Plain and simple, he no longer makes money for Paramount.

Tom will walk away with over $80 million for "Mission: Impossible III" while Paramount will be lucky to break even.

He's priced himself out of the market.

They were not happy about the things that he was saying. He thinks he can smarter everyone. Beside it was very costly for Paramount since he was getting a salary as an actor and as a director. He is too expensive.... he has to go... I am happy ...I do not like him.

It's his odd behavior, read about this in the newspaper today. I too think he's a little crazy but what about these other stars that the studio haven't dumped? The ones that get into fights, use drugs and end up in jail? It all comes down to money here in los angeles, that is the studio doesn't want to make a big investment producing another one of his films only to see it flop and then lose money.

He is antagonizing the public with his negative statements and his antics. They are not seeing as many movies and therefore not making as much money. Corporations care about money. They can get someone else that has less controversy easily. There are other actors that do not have an agenda and just want to work. There are plenty of them. Corporations want money they do not want to deal with people who are controversial and have slipping popularity.

Tom had the world at his fingertips and he blew it. He had no right to stand in judgement of Brooke Shields or anyone else who needed meds for depression or any other illness. People are sick of him pushing his ideas down every else's throat, and his antics on the Oprah Winfrey show only added to speculation that his head isn't screwed on tight enough. I am totally sick of hearing about him, his baby, and his wife.

He acted like an idiot in public. Paramount may regret letting him go some day...

He is losing his mind in his religion.
He is saying ignorant things about which he has no clue
I do not believe he has ever had a child or has had post partum deppression
He has let his stardom get the best of him
and it is quite sad
