OK, we all know humans have a hard time getting along, but even in the Animal Kingdom, there is never peace. Predators are continuously hunting their prey and because Man still has his animal instincts, peace will never be possible

Amongst humans sad as it seems I believe that peace is unnatural and unrealistic..
Animals know neither peace nor war, they do know survival and defense... If they need to work live hunt or travel together they will, if they don't they won't... But that isn't agreement debate struggle or serenity, that's survival.

Human nature has a few basic universal principals and laws...
#1: CURIOSITY: To seek and to understand to ask questions and relentlessly pursue the answer in one's own fashion.
#2: TO BE LEAD: The burden of the human psyche is a constant perplexity, we therefore find it necessary to appoint peers to be our leaders to relieve that burden or to fabricate grandiose entities for our own satisfaction.
#3: STRIFE: To be in constant turmoil to struggle within and without to assure ourselves and others we are either dominant irrepressible correct just or powerful.
#4: THE DESIRE TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED: Or simply the need for social interaction. Be it harmonious chaotic long term short term somber quizzical or anything else. We have a need and a desire to be social beings on any level. It drives us and motivates our humanity.

Yes, in one sense peace is unnatural here because this world is not meant to be a peaceful, happy place to live. This world is meant to be the place where we learn that peace and happiness are not possible without service to the Lord. We have forgotten our spiritual nature and forgotten our relationship of loving service to the Supreme Lord, so we fall into this material world and suffer. Because this is the material world, it is natural to suffer here.

But peace is possible here nonetheless. To achieve peace the majority of human society will have to become God conscious. The Lord gives the peace formula in the Bhagavad-gita. He says that if we recognize Him as the owner and controller of everything, there will be peace in the world. This means that we will recognize every living being in all forms of life as brothers and sisters. Then we will end the cause of war. War is our reaction for killing innocent animals. We kill each other because we are killing thousands of animals daily simple to satisfy the taste buds. There can be no peace with this kind of barbaric activity going on.

Yes, maybe peace is "unnatural". But we have a hell lots of other unnatural things which we obviously take for granted and never ask these questions about. No other animal is able to send and receive emails! Or take part an online Q&A game! The classical example for this kind of ideas, is stepping on the moon!

You are not an optimist are you now? lol
I think peace is the natural state of things, if we can cleanse our hearts and souls then surely true peace will descent. The purest state of our souls is felt with the emotin of peace, it is the mark of the wisemen too. That;s what i heard anyways. Chaos and disorder occurs because man cannot control their desires, or won't accept laws we all have to live by, most of us can't, actions leading to peace on the other hand requires deep thought and immense effort on an individuals part. We all deliberate whether or not we want to be peaceful person consciously,.....it's about the choices you make. So, No peace is not unnatural, it is the most natural thing in the world.
Peace!

Good question. I voted that.

You are right if prime aim of the whole creation is Animals.

But in my view, it is humans and so the base must be from them and not animals.

Man has animal instincts but there is human natures that over power them. When we lack human natures, the peace process is jeopardised. That is what we see all around the world.

I would disagree and say that peace is natural. There is harmony in the animal kingdom, because there are checks and balances. The hunt or the battle for a mate is part of this. War and peace are also checks and balances.

Peace is no more unnatural than war. It's just that peace means putting one's greed in check, something many of us would rather not do. The rules of behavior that govern small groups of people also govern larger groups. There will always be those seeking to manipulate others around their special interests. Greed is the key to war. Justice the key to peace. Peace is unrealistic, maybe, given the fact that those whose lust for money and power will go to any lengths to maintain that money and power, and the fact that those who seek justice seek it through generally unpeaceful means. But that doesn't mean that peace is unnatural. The yearning for peace is just as natural as the lust for power or riches.

Yes - people will always hunt for food, also humans have free will which gives them power, there will aways be evil people, you have love and with loves come hatred and jealousy. What people can do is try all their best to get rid of war and things like that - by starting to get rid of ALL weapons - YES THAT MEANS YOURS TOO BUSH!!! - give people equality - so there is no hunger, no racism. There can never be pure peace - but people can make peace to the best of their abilities by doing drastic things - that other people will not like - like getting rid of weapons are giving each country the same amount of money so no one is hungry or poor.

Culture and education and families produce people who use violence to solve their problems. Once people quit doing that, you will see drastically fewer forms of violence, period. That will give international peace.

As cultures slowly change, you will see crime go away next. We will learn more about ourselves and become both more intelligent about solving our problems. Then we will have a peace that will seem natural because people will (at that time) hardly be able to understand how people of this time did what they did.

Example...how do you feel about people being beheaded...tortured, about 'cruel and unusual punishment...' Does that seem like an extreme and unnecessary way of getting anything accomplished? Yet people did that not too long ago (and still do it someplaces?).

Sadly it is true. Like any gregarious animal humans carry a sense of needing to belong to a "pack" and always look for a common enemy. The only way we will be united is by an alien invasion.

Read The Human Zoo by Desmond Morris. He explains it all.
