Does UN have any power over USA??..If so...then why did USA attack iraq ?

UN is said to be a peace keeping body, then where was this body when thousands of innocent people were killed in iraq and Afghanistan and now in lebanon? Ain't America killing innocent people...isn't this terrorism??

Yes, America is the biggest terrorist that there has ever been with exception of Germany's Nazi's. We just have enough $ and power that no one will tell us different or they face the same threat. This is the new America, this isn't the Patriotic America that this country was founded on, too many people w/ too much power and it's gone to their heads.

Iraq failed to abide by the UN ceasefire agreement that ended the 1991 Gulf War. His continued defiance of the UN and his support of terrorism were why the UN authorized the use of force to make Iraq comply with the ceasefire resolutions. The US congress, based on the same info the President had, also authorized the use of force. The President pulled together a coalition of countries to force compliance, in one of the slowest lead-ups to war ever seen.

Even without UN authorization, there is no law, no power that prevents us from carrying out policies in support of our own national security and national interest.

As for the deaths of innocents, in Iraq, those deaths have mostly been at the hands of the insurgents, especially the Sunnis, and the terrorists infiltrating from Iran and Syria. I would estimate these terrorist insurgents have killed at least 30 to 35,000 innocent Iraqis, significantly more than were killed by the US in fighting Saddam or the terrorists.

And, no, just because innocent people die, that doesn't make it terrorism. Terrorism is the deliberate targeting of innocent people for the sole purpose of disrupting their lives. That is NOT what the US or the Coalition or Israel have been doing.

hell no. The UN is a joke, the USA is a SOVERIGN state, just like the 190 SOVERIGN States which are members of the UN. None of them wants to be controlled by the UN, if the UN ever did (at least as the situation is now) try to take over as 1-World Gov't there'd be global uprising.

As for Americans being terrorists, you must remember it was TERRORIST ATTACKS that forced the US to launch the war in Afganistan, it was the potental of more htat led us to Iraq and it was terrorist attacks that led Isreal to kick Lebanon and an "International PK Force" into that hole, (btw, last I heard the Leb force was being led by the French)

The United Nations is a place where nations can come together to discuss their differences through diplomacy so that the world can get away from "hot wars". Unfortunately, the world governments have slid into "cowboy" & "terrorist" mentalities as of late, and this has seriously diminished the effectiveness of a diplomatic organization. The United Nations have on direct control over any country. They have no actual power but they can enforce, hence, peace keeping force. The United States is one of the main supporters of the United Nations. As for the other wars, it is the terrorists that are killing thousands of innocent people.
