Why do people think all ghetto's are bad. I have lived in suburban areas as well as the "ghetto". I actually liked the ghetto's better. When I was in the burbs everyone had fake hello's and only talked on occasion. People cared more about their lawns then their fellow neighbors. Gossip was in large supply and hospitality rarely came into the pictures.

I know...I know...the violence of the ghetto...well suburbs have drugs, gangs, and violence also...It's just better hidden which isnt necessarily a better thing. I think I would rather see the local drug dealers so I can know who NOT to associate or send my kids their to play. And actually I've never had a gang member, drug dealer, etc try and assault me or harm me in any way in the ghetto. If you don't bother them, they won't bother you.

In the "Ghetto" people are hanging out talking to everybody else. No one is excluded...even the neighborhood drug addict isn't ostricsized. hell, he's the guy that mows your lawn.

Silly little boy. LOL, I am in no way a hood rat. I graduated in the top 20% of my class, I've held the same federal employment fo 10 years, I have my own home business, and I do quite well finacially. I don't hate white people. I mean come on you can't do better then that...I have white friends, co workers, and and even in the "Ghetto" as neighbors. I never said anything about race so your assumption shows your stupidity. Pick up a book a maybe....just maybe...you can reach my level of happiness in life.

i have just had this conversation with a friend, i originally come from a very tough poverty stricken area of Glasgow, i now live in the suburbs with my own child and we were discussing how no one seems to know each other and no one cares realy, as a kid all our mums looked out for every kid in the street or tenement and each other too, they all pulled together when it was needed, we even had a big day out for the whole street in the summer, i am only 28 so this was in the 80s and 90s so things aren't that different, i think you are right suburbs are fake, every ones trying to prove something, who's got the best job, best car etc, etc, in the ghetto as you call it, everyone is in the same predicament and therefore get along, I'm not saying we didn't have problems but we also had good good times my memories of living on a so called tough problem area are fantastic and im proud of my roots and will never fake it.

I was born and raised uptown. My sisters had lived in ghetto neighborhoods when they married their boyfriends, though. They hated living in ghettos and I can see why. I know there are people in the ghetto who aren't bad or some kind of addicts, but that's predominantly what you will find there, and lots of those people WILL fu*k with you even if you aren't bothering them. My sisters and their children kept to themselves, but they still got attacked verbally and physically by ghetto punks. My nephew has suffered broken fingers, stolen toys and was pushed down stairs and he wasn't bothering anyone - he was just picked on. They all pretend to like you, they use you for money and things, mooch, steal... The guys are pieces of sh!t who cheat, and their girlfriends are fools who pick fights with everyone else except their cheating men!! Nobody seems to keep it real there. I am glad I still live uptown away from the skanks.

I live in an area of London which is like the English ghetto. It's very violent but I've lived here all my life and never want to move.

I live in Camden, NJ...it's the city that was rated the worst in the US for its crime. I was born here, raised here, I went to school and now I work here too. Yes, it's bad, but my husband and I work, raise our children, and travel a lot so that we're not always just stuck here. We will be moving out of the city soon, so the kids can be in a better school district.

I know what you mean. High class areas are the most fakest people I know!! Your right, people in the ghetto keep it real. I mean, there are many doctors, lawyers, judges, and other high power people that do what ghetto people do, BUT, the difference is, they do it behind closed doors, ghetto people just do it outdoors. GHETTOFABULOS!
