I knew a couple that met when they were coworkers, but got married after they were no longer working together.

Yes I do. I used to work at a place where a whole lot of people got together as couples and got married. I only know of a couple of them where it didn't work out. One of the couples that split were too immature to get married to begin with. All the rest of them lived happily ever after for the most part. At least from what I know. But I don't work there anymore.

Yes I knew three different couples from my old job that got together at the job and are now married. Of course I'm sure more often dating a coworker does not end up in marriage.

i know a couple that work together and they are doing very well...they have been together over 2 years...and will probably get married, although one is in law school right now so i assume they are waiting untill he gets out of school...they are actually 2 great people and i am sure they will have a really good life together! although i have heard of many relationships not working out if the 2 people work together.

The only bad thing I can think of about dating a co-worker is that when you and your co-worker break up you have to see them all the time when you go to work. And you might see them with another man or woman and that would just break your heart.

The secret is getting another job once things get a little serious. My husband was my boss when we first started dating and once I moved in with him I put my two weeks notice. We are still together seven years later.

It can work out if you both are mature about the relationship. I would keep it quiet and if anyone asked, I would be honest. It is important that you both remain yourselves. also I would look at the employee handbook to see what it says about employee dating.

but then the flip side of the coin got ugly when she got laid off..the relationship didn't sustain when she had to change boss, got a raise and eventually moved out from his life for a promotion.
Isn't it ironic?

Never potty where you eat and never eat where you potty. Some relationships albeit very few make it. The ones that don't can alter the course of one or the others life forever.
