Yes, I voted for Bush and I can explain his these quotes:

#1 -- Several if not most are made up and were never said by him. Check out http://www.snopes.com/quotes/candidate.asp and see how many show up as utter falsehoods (that is a pun for you).

Your list is pretty much cut-and-pasted from the Snopes site – which is specifically a list of statements falsely attributed to Bush, previously attributed to Quayle, and some even attributed to Democrats.

#2 -- Some of them are absolutely correct and reflect exactly who he is -- the quote on riots if true is great -- who is to blame? Rioters, that's who! No kidding! Who is to blame for crime? Criminals!

Here's one you did not mention: "more and more of our imports come from overseas." That is a quote he is being slammed for in the blogs right now. He's a real dummy, huh?! Well, the fact is that the majority of our imports come from Canada and Mexico, NOT overseas. Yet it is very much true with the growth of Asian imports that "more and more of our imports come from overseas." So it is 100% accurate and appropriate.

#3 -- Lastly, some of them he may have said and are just verbal missteps. Yes, the President has put his foot in his mouth on occasion. Big deal.

we've not any thank you to understand, for the reason that we don't exhibit screen the guy 24 hours an afternoon. each and every physique has some flashes of brilliance, and the alternative to boot. all the regularly used public can remember upon are quotations interior the media. while you're no longer watching or examining a competent information source that exams its information, you're getting "factoids" somewhat of information. Even the main respected guides make blunders - yet they often take corrective action with a view to maintain public credibility. working occasion: the magazine's government editor, Hendrik Hertzberg, instructed interviewers that the hot Yorker has admitted to "something above 3 hundred" blunders interior the previous. significant blunders have been many times known in a floating errata column variously stated as the "branch of Correction," the "branch of Correction and Amplification," and the "branch of Correction, Amplification, and Abuse" or by private correspondence.

Youve misattributed most of these quotes, the astronaught thing for example was Dan Quale, not Bush as were the running the risk of failure AND the Bondage of mother and child And the Mars quote AND many others.. but dont let the facts get in your way!!

Thank you for posting this- it made my day. There was a book I saw on Amazon that is nothing but stupid Bush quote (i.e. whatever comes out of his mouth). My favorite one was:

"I was proud to shake the hand of an Iraqi solder who had his hand blown off in a car bomb." George W Bush

I like Dubyaisms, especially the one about man and fish peacefully coexisting. But come on. He is our face to the world. It would be nice to have someone in charge who can articulate a sentence in English. I cringe whenever I hear him give a speech. Maybe he should stick to Spanish.
