It is nearly impossible nowadays to order a salad that doesn't a boatload of purple cabbage in it. Why is this? I get REALLY tired of having to pick it all out. Disgusting stuff.

It's for color purposes more than anything. Helps it make the salad look appealing not only to the taste but to the eye. Have you ever tried it??? It's pretty good.

Just to give it color, make it more appealing. Have you tried the purple cabbage? It is real good.

I think they do it to contrast all the green... trying to make your salad look more appealing. But that's not working for you. Try ordering a Caesar salad instead.

You could try asking the waiter or waitress if they could bring you a salad without it. If not, maybe they could substitute cole slaw or something else.

Tell the wait person not to do it and they won't put it in there.
