I love Alfred Hitchcock and his movies and I see a lot of similarities in M.Night Shymalan. I love all his movies and his cameos, and think is is one of the best directors ever, but I don't think he is the new Hitchcock like people are saying. What Do You Think?

I agree. Hitchcock was different and very talented. Mr. Shymalan has done some excellent movies with surprises and shocks, but he has not yet made the kind of movies that Hitchcock made.

Shymalan, --- the new HITCHCOCK?... I don't think so!!!

Shymalan is a GOOD director; no more,...no less.

Hitchcock's cameos were humbly subtle: You had to actually be paying attention to find some of them.

Not so with Shymalan: With each picture he's made his "cameo" has been much more "involved" than in the one proceeding it. In his last film, LADY IN THE WATER, his "cameo" was in the form of a supporting actor role. What'll it be for his next film? A LEAD actor cameo (that is, if there IS a next film, - LITW wasn't received too well by the critics).

I would like to see him deflate his ego a bit (...QUITE a bit...) and concentrate more on becoming a better director as opposed to his current preoccupation: Narcissism...

I enjoy M. Night's movies---I do not think I would compare him to Hitchcock though--he needs a little bit more under his belt for that comparison

I think most people (the common movie goers) are finding his movies to be losing their appeal.
