Just finished watching the movie, which I loved, by the way. I was just wondering how real the film was. Is it really like this, worse, or not as bad, as it's portrayed in the film (I'm talking about hooliganism, of course). What are your thoughts about the subject in general?

It is a lot worse in real life especially with the west ham fans and the milwall fans that is an actuall beff going on when ever they play each other. Some fans go looking for other firms to fight with during away games, most of them are boken up by the police tho. Dam them!

The Millwall boys with Tony Hatcher looked like the real thing but I couldn't really believe that the GSE were a serious mob. My impression was that Bovver would cry for his mummy with one slap. The fight sequences were poorly choreographed and it was pretty obvious who the major was from the start. It looked as though it was made with the help of West Ham FC which was interesting.

It was a small portrayal of what goes on. They took the whole GSE think to an extreme but there are gangs out there living like this today. Football is just one more thing to add to amongst others that causes violence and upset to todays society.
Of course it is solely down to the individuals and not the game itself.

There surely are some crazy people out there but in my opinion they've taken it to extremes in the film.

it was based on actual events that have happened between football gangs. i think it was worse in the seventies than it is today. but it still happens between rival gangs its just not made aware to the authorities as they organise the fights.

im speakin from inside knowledge here
