I saw on Brainiac's Test Tube Baby that if you have locked your keys in your car, someone else can unlock it for you, even if they are miles away. This is because the person with the spare key held it up to their phone and the person who had locked their keys inside the car held their phone to the lock. Then, the person with the spare key pressed the unlock button and it unlocked the car. Does anyone know how this works?

I have heard of this your key-less entry works off a tone that can be transmitted threw your phone but you don't hold it to the key entry you aim it at you car so it can be picked up by the key-less entry antenna

This doesn't sound possible, since modern remote entry products use a radio signal to send the codes to the vehicle, or garage door opener, and so on.

If SOMEHOW the phones can carry that signal, then that would be really great.

The main question of course is, how did the person lock their keys in their car? If you are used to using your remote to lock the car, then you would just open the door up again and grab the key ring and lock up. With my old import car, you can only lock the door with the key from the outside, to prevent lockouts.

hmmmm... doesn't sound quite right, lol...

The keyless locks transmit a signal. You need to point the transmitting frequency toward your vehicle. Don't you have a touch pad on the outside of your vehicle for such occurrences.
