I won't go to either one unless I'm in excruciating (I'd-rather-be-dead) pain and it's something I can't operate on myself.

For some reason, I've been lucky enough to have really good dentists wherever I've lived, and some really borderline-incompetent doctors. So, for me, doctors. And the irony is that they've always charged me more money for doing what seems to be less work.

The dentist. My insurance covers most of my medical bills, but my dental plan sucks. I have an abscess tooth right now, but I know if I go get it taken care of, it will cost over $1000 after the root canal and crown.

Dentist because I neglect my dental care. I hadn't been getting my cleanings semiannually like I should and I need some scaling done as we speak. But I get my annual pap smear like clockwork. I really don't like going to either but I need to use some of this insurance that I have to pay for regardless.
