ISRAEL DID NOT START THE WAR. I THINK THE KIDNAPPING OF TWO AND KILLING OF EIGHT WAS THE TIPPING POINT. THE MIDDLE EAST IS FULL OF MINORITY WHINERS THAT WANT THEIR WAY MUCH LIKE A SIX YEAR OLD DOESN'T WANT TO GO TO BED ON TIME. FOR SIXTY PLUS YEARS THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON AND IT WILL CONTINUE FOREVER. IF THE "TERRORIST" GROUPS PUT DOWN THEIR WEAPONS TODAY THERE WOULD BE PEACE TOMORROW. IF ISRAEL PUT DOWN THEIR WEAPONS THEY WOULD BE DESTROYED. I DON'T KNOW THE END GAME FOR SUCH GROUPS BUT IF IT IS NOT ISRAEL IT WILL BE SOMEONE ELSE. ISRAEL, I BELIEVE, FINALLY SAID ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION AND ALSO SEEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO DIMINISH THE ARSENAL OF HEZBOLLAH. THE WORLD HAS SEEN WHAT A RADICAL FRAME OF MIND CAN DO. IF THESE PEOPLE ARE TRULY RELIGIOUS THEN PEACE SHOULD BE AT THE FRONT OF ALL PRIORITIES. HOW MANY FAMILY MEMBERS WOULD STILL BE AROUND IF THE PEACE PROCESS HAD TRULY BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE.

There are two mistakes in your question:
1. Israel didn't start the war. (although the certainly escalated it)
2. It wasn't (isn't) against Lebanon.

you really have no idea what's going on there- do you?

What would you do if you lived in Texas, and a militant group that lived in Mexico and was funded by Venezuela attacked a US border patrol outpost, killed 8 of our troops and kidnapped a couple more? This militant group, who has 15,000 missiles pointed at you, and a strong organization wants to make Texas part of Mexico. Take it further. Texas is only the size of NJ, has no oil or natural resources, the rest of the US hates you Texans, wants to kill you all and wants Texas to be part of Mexico. What would you do?

If I recall, the Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers so Israel went over to Lebanon and kicked the sh*t out of the Hezbollah. The conflict is not against the Lebanese people. It against the militant terrorists.

They didn't. Lebanon had been planning and working on an invasion for 6 years with the help of Syria and Iran. There is a constant agenda to eliminate Israel.

Israel started the war with Lebanon to elimanate the invasion plans that Lebanon had for Israel.

Basically, it was a "they're gonna hit us, we might as well hit first" situation.

Both countries are wrong.

This is actually a war that has gone on since Biblical times, between the two sons of Abraham; Ishmael-the son of his Egyptian handmaid Hagar, and Isaac; the son of his wife Sarah. God blessed both bloodlines to bring forth 'great nations' and the war over "rights" continues today. Israel didnt start it, they both merely perpetuate it prophesy.

God Bless you and keep you...

Perhaps because Hezbollah kidnapped two of its soldiers. . .and has been a menacing presence that is being used as a proxy for other hostile states who don't want to directly declare war with Israel.
