i used to call my grandma "honey" up until i was 6 or 7. ugh. of course i call her grandma now lol. anyway, i was sitting down with my boyfriend jake (who is now my ex) and we were just talking. my grandma comes over and says "jess, i was thinking...i really miss the days where u called my honey." jake looked at me and started cracking up. i started to explain why she said that but he was laughing too hard. then my grandma goes "its not funny!" jake goes "sorry, ms. linda..." and puts his arm around me and says "oh jess...this is why i like you. you make me laugh."
oh my god, i didnt think i would live that one down.

once my grandfather revealed that he didn't even know german even though he said that he did and for years had been lying to us. he wasn't even an important person in post-WWII germany, just some mail clerk, but had told the whole family he was a judge and translator. then we discovered he had another family over there and an illegitimate child. when we found this out my grandma got flustered and she spilled sauce on my girlfriend at the time, Chessica Mumpmip. Chessica was so embarrassed by my gram's clumsiness!! Things really have not been the same amongst my family members after she pilled that sauce. It ruined our bond, trust, and knowledge.

My grandmother brought me to get my haircut without my mom's permission. It was the very early 80s, but I still had long 70s hair. Unfortunately, the "feathered bang" look was horrendous on me!

But seriously, my grandparents never once embarrassed me or made me feel uncomfortable. I rarely got to see them, and each time I was with them was a treat. I'm fortunate that I have only fond memories of my grandparents.
