The principle... that for that moment in time you weren't good enough for them.

I personally feel that it is the principle of the matter mostly. Don't get me wrong, it's ALL WRONG, and all hurtful. But in my mind, I can place sex in it's own category. Like, it was just for the sex, the principle of the matter is what really tears you up on the inside. The worst part is knowing that you can never truly trust that person again. It will always linger in the back of your mind. Good Luck

It's a little of both, you're pissed because they would have the gall to go and cheat in the first place. But then it's like throwing salt on the wound when you found out they've had sex with another person. Sex in a committed relationship to some is so special that sharing it with another person is enough to send them over the edge.

The principle of the act. To some they think that they aren't good enough, but that isn't always the case. Sometimes things just happen.

The principle of the act. It sure feels lousy knowing they have no respect for the relationship.

The principle. If she'd have just asked I'd have arranged it and watched, maybe joined in. The act isn't what bothered me.

Becoming emotionally attached is more hurtful than the act or them having sex with another person. I hope that makes sense.

I think the emotional betrayal hurts the most. The realization that he's (it was a he in my case, could just as easily be a she for others) a cheater, a liar, totally lacking in integrity, and thought so little of his marriage vows or his promise of fidelity..... Heartbreaking.
Not to mention the potential for disease that he brought to me when I thought we were in a mutually exclusive relationship. Unconscionable!
