Absolutely! If not for marketing people wouldn't buy all this useless stuff they don't need, and bill collectors like myself would be out of work.

essential for anyone in business in any way shape or form, great book to read is
Positioning the Battle for your mind by Reis Trout.
Top of mind awareness is what it is all about,
just ask yourself, a few simple questions
name 5 different makes of
Pop?
Fast Food restaurants?
Cars?
Realtors?
Insurance Agents?
Etc
Etc?
The next question is then, who of these do you actually do business with, and ther will be often the answer as to why marketing is so important
If you are not in real estate like me, it is likely that you will have a hard time to even think of more than 3 agents of the top, so how much chance do the other 1000 or so agents have if and when you are thinking of selling your home....... little to none, that is the notion and power of marketing
Good Luck, I hope this helps

Marketing is beneficial when it enables consumers and producers to mutually satisfy their wants and desires. Marketing harms when it is all about advertising and making a quick buck.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Without marketing (spreading of ideas) we, as a society would stay as isolated as a tribe of African pygmies, who are trying to spread their wings into many methods of marketing (their products.)
