My dilemma is that for the time my fiancee was alive, I felt like we could work out differences and get married even though it was three years after we called it off. I always kept this in mind because she kept the ring. What do you think?

No, once it is called off, you are no longer engaged

You are not engaged nor have you been since it was called off. The ring should have been returned to you, although I don't know what you would do with it. If I got engaged to someone I sure wouldn't want a second hand unsuccessful engagement ring.

Since it was mutually called off, she should have given you the ring back. Any time for any reason, the guy should get the ring back in my opinion. No, you should not say you are engaged once it is called off.

Once you call off the engagement you are no longer engaged. Just because she kept the ring doesn't mean anything other than she enjoys jewelry.

if the engagement is off, the ring should go back to the buyer...besides, what female would want to keep a ring with a broken promise?
