I was working really hard on a video on Windows movie maker. I closed it and then went back on. I thought I was opening another video but I was actually choosing a file to save in. I accidently saved over my video. Any way I can get it back?

Go to this site:

Download the demo and run it. Look for any 'old' file
with the same name as the one you overwrote. The
chances are that it is still there. Follow the directions.

You " May " get lucky if you are using Windows XP ?

Try doing a System Restore to the closest restore point saved prior to Accidentally over righting the original file .

Worth a try

If you have saved the file, then it should be in your Documents folder, or in whatever program you were useing, ie; microsoft word, excell, ect. If you have accidently deleated said file, then look on your recycle bin on your desk top, thats the screen that comes up when you start your computer.

look in the recycle bin. If it's not there, set your browser to show hidden files. A back up is usually there.

It depends on which version of windows you are running. If you are running XP, you can try to do a system restore to a prior date and see if that works.

Are you at work? Some companies do tape backups every night; you can call your IT person and have her/him retrieve it from yesterday.
