The way you put it, no. There is not just one 'best' partner for us out in the world (assuming you are using soulmate in the romantic sense, as people often do)...and if there were only one, the chances of us EVER meeting in this world of many billions of people would be virtually nil.

I think soulmates or soulties exist, but they are not necessarily romantic loves (although they can be)...they are people to which we feel tightly connected and we may meet none in a lifetime, or several.

People use the term 'soulmate' nowadays as haphazardly as the word 'love'...it sounds nice and makes a girl's eyes sparkle...but it often has little meaning for the one saying it, other than to serve their own ends...

I might have once believed this but over time I've come to realize that life doesn't bear this out as too many people die without ever getting married and then there are the other people who get married and divorced several times in their life.

My godmother has never been married, in part because she helped to care for her mom and dad as they got older. Will she ever be married? I don't know. She told me she had wanted to but perhaps she somehow missed her opportunities? As for myself, although I've thought about getting married and I think I'd definitely prefer marriage to being single all my life, I sometimes have the impression that I may end up remaining single.

Yes I do.but you have to do the work. Like attracts like, but so do opposites. If you sit on your butt waiting then your soul mate is going to be that chair. As with anything in life you appreciate and treasure, what you work for or earned rather than what is given or stolen

I believe that we have multiple soul mates and as hard as it is to explain this concept, I do believe that fate is alive and well in our world and does play a part in uniting people meant to be.

I am a firm believer in this. I believe everything happens for a reason. Every experience will make you grow. I am positive there is someone out there for everyone. I believe that you can go through many experiences in your life, but you cannot escape destiny.

No, I don't think so. I think really good relationships take a lot of work, not fate there to just hand it to them on a silver platter. I do think that when you find the person who is your partner, it feels magical.
