Scanner is correct. It depends on what software came with your scanner. Your scanner comes with drivers and sofware tools to import those scanned images to your computer. It's really specific to what software comes with the scanner.

First, get a scanner. Next install the software and drivers givin to you when you purchased the scanner. If you don't have an installation CD, for example if it's an HP scanner you can go to www.hp.com and download the drivers. Next plug it in to the PC using the USB cable. Then you can either use the scanning software givin to you or just use the built in scanner wizard in windows xp.

ONce you get a scanner and you have installed the software to your computer, just put the pictures in the scanner and then press scan or go to "My computer" and the scanner software should be there. The picture should scan to the computer then you can choose a file to save the picture to. Then the picture is saved to your computer.

If they are pictures, you have to copy them to some method to get them on your computer. If it's a digital camera, they usually now come with software and a usb cable to transfer the pictures from camera to pc. Or, you might need a photo scannel, that takes a picture of a flat document and sends it to your computer. Do any of these ideas help?
