seem a bit irresponsible if not risky? I mean....I am not a minority, but I can smell a whole lot of controversy about to blow. I'm just curious as to the public's thoughts on this.

Seriously think about it,, any other time there have been minorities on a tribe they have always banded together. So now rather than making them band together 2 or 3 againist everyone else they are giving them a 100% equal chance at kicking some ***.

I mean everyone already has the stereo types in their minds before Jeff even annouces it,, yell at me for being Non PC but,, the asians are the smart ones,, the african american's are the athletes, the hispantics will be the hot headed trouble makers, and the white ppl will be arrogant cry babies who dont' know how to live with out toilet paper or something silly like that,, who everyone will hate cuz they are the goodie goodie,, prissy ones.

I say bring it on baby!!!!!

No one cared when they did by sex, or age,, so why should race be any different?? on the other reality shows they do this all the time,, The amazing race,, American Idol,, treasure hunters, they are all devided by race,,, so just now when Survivor does it ,, it's new,, and bad??? Get over it!!!!!

Yeah, they had an article in the newspaper about it today. Like, if the white people win, the KKK could use this as some sort of evidence to back up their claims of white supremacy. And frankly, I think this would go with any other group that wanted to claim ethnic supremacy.

It's all for ratings, that's my problem with it. They wanted to get more ethnically diverse, but this isn't the way to go.

But I don't watch Survivor. Hehe, but I'm tempted to now (even though I'm a minority). Prolly just download it.

Hell, no...it's brilliant. Look how much free publicity they're getting for the show.
It seems rather illogical...one of the reasons they're offering for doing this is to increase the show's diversity. So this means that they're enforcing segregation for diversity's sake...
But the producers don't care...just keep the controversy going, and keep the show's name in the media.

I think 12 of the 16 people are from California.

I think it is a great marketing idea.

No matter what people may want, a large percentage of humans will always self segregate by race. This does not mean they are racist, people just feel more comfortable with their own kind.

this will cause alot of controversy, but if you look at it in a way, it doesnt matter what race you are in the games, it just matters who you have alined with and if you have the votes, It probably wont last more than 3 episodes.

Controversy creates ratings, Survivor's ratings have been slipping becaue well it's on it's 12th season and it's getting old.

I think it is an interesting idea to keep the show alive. You say you are not a minority. You could be one, it depends on where you live.

They're doing it specifically to incite contorversy. Controversy equals ratings!

Yeah, it's going to cause controversy, but controversy = ratings, so CBS gets richer either way. *shrugs*
