I already downloaded the software and plugged the usb into the pc and my phone.....

i suggest Drag and Drop, thats what i did with mine and it worked fine. Just double check and make sure all your connections are secure and in the correct USB ports for your computer.

The best way for such players is probrably 'drag and drop'. You can do this by going to My Computer and finding your device. Open it and copy 'n paste or drag 'n drop music files where you are supposed to; try looking in the manual for this location.
