you live by a king soopers???? what states are those in??
anyway... i think this is one of those things where, since you are straight, someone doesn't think you're allowed to make the joke. do you know what i mean?? i think it's funny, and i would think it was funny coming from a friend or another gay person. coming from a stranger, and said in a certain way, MAYBE i would think they were being a jerk. and only maybe. sounds like this gal is just waiting for you to slip up so she can give you a lecture. i would rather hear a joke than a lecture anyday.

Nah, your ok. I mean gay guys call each other, and themselves, Queen all the time. I'm gay I would have called it Queen Soopers - it's funny. People need to lighten up a bit I think. And I don't think you're anywhere near Hitler!

It is kind of prejudice.... i'm assuming you are not Gay. To call someone a queen can even be taken very badly in the gay community - it can be quite an insult. Also, just becuase your mom has gotten away with something from the 70's does not make it right... For an example take "All in the Family" for what speach used to be perfectly ok, but would now make anyone react.

If you said in a disgusted way, it could be seen as prejudiced, but other wise not really. A "queen" is a type of gay guy... and a ruler.. but anyhow. I hate labels I think most are BS, but most people know what you mean when you say queen. It doesn't really stand for something cruel. Tell her (if you care) that you aren't prejudiced, its just a term. As long as you don't hate, it doesn't matter what people think.

If you have guys wearing girls clothes to the store , then calling them a QUEEN is something that they would be proud of. The homos on this web site that answer questions like this do not have an open mind. The open minded ones dont reply.

it aint racist if it's the truth. it may hurt peoples feelings but so what! Don't sugar coat it just because some chick yo met has never had a decent bone and is on the verge of being a muff diver. she's probably thinking about it is why she got upset. if she is upset then that should tell you alot about her, 1, doesnt have religion which makes me beleive she has no morals, and 2 is closed minded for not respecting your opinion. you didnt force your beliefs on her, just the truth. so you know what? F*** that little douch!

I've found that most straight people are worried about being prejudiced towards gay people, then gay people themselves.
I don't see where the offense is from your comment, it doesn't suggest your homophobic or aggressive, its just a nick name, we all have them.
Political correctness is going mad, say what you want to, as long as its not aggressive to other people

I agree with the girl, sorry, but that can be a hurtful term and just because your mom has been doing it since the '70's doesn't make it right.

Sorry buddy...gotta agree with the girl. Just because the term has been used a long time doesn't mean that it isn't prejudiced. It clearly is. I hear that the Clan has been using the word n!gger for a long time...does the long time usage of this word make is not prejudicial? No.
