I have to say that I feel to peer-pressure and I started at 15.

I no longer smoke... I quit 4 years ago.

I started smoking when I was 15, and continually smoked for 25 years.

Why did I start? My parents smoked, all my friends smoked... I would have stuck out like a sore thumb if I hadn't started.

Sticking out like a sore thumb really isn't that bad... that is the only thing I would change if I could do my life over. I'd never take up smoking.

I still smoke (now 23) and began about 12 right before my 13th bday...The reason that I started smoking wasn't so much peer pressure but that they were available and my friend and I were curious. We saw people like our older sibliings smoking and just wanted to know what all of the hype was about...after we tried them, we continued to smoke and it became more of a reasoning because it was "cool" rather then actually having liked it...

I started at 15 or 16 mainly because all my friends were and I thought it would make me look cool, and that was years ago and now I can't kick it. It's easy to stop once you're a teenager but once you get older it's hard to quit.
