If that attack had happened in the street then Thatcher would have been looking at an ABH charge at the least. Couple this latest incident with his track record and he would surely be spending some time in custody.
Just because he is a football player and he practises his thuggery on the field should not deter the authorities from bringing criminal charges against him.
Also the referee should be counselled for getting his decision totally wrong!

I was at the game last night and was only 3 rows from where it happened. He never looked at the ball once and in my opinion is a complete thug! He is a disgrace to Manchester City and should be given a hefty ban! I am a season ticket holder at Manchester City and in all honesty it was the worst 'challenge' if thats what you can call it that i have seen in a long time.

A lengthy ban is needed and maybe some community service!

it really is the reason athletes and different famous human beings typically date different celebrities or carry close out at unique nighttime golf equipment or bars rather of going to dollar draft nighttime through the interior sight state college. i do not comprehend (and no another than Ben and the girl is popular with) what fairly exceeded off that nighttime yet what he does want to do is end putting himself able the position this form of aspect can take position. If the data does no longer help the expenditures then there is no longer a lot you may do and the DA does no longer want the girls cooperation to fee him both. Even the ER physician that examined the girl couldn't say that her damage became in line with "attack style injuries". I also do not imagine for a minute that "the fix became in" to get the expenditures dropped because the DA might want to have far more desirable to achieve through getting a conviction in a extreme profile case than letting it bypass.

Agree with most of what you say excepting Drunken's head butt was a premeditated assault whereas Thatcher has a case for saying it was caused by the speed at which both players were travelling. Dont get me wrong. I think he should get a lengthy ban but I am not generally in favour of the Coppers getting involved in an incident at a football match. If we carry on with that then we will turn it into a game for cissies. OOps! Sorry Christian.

Of course he should. Assault is assault whether on the pitch or off. It's no excuse just because you are wearing football kit.

The tackle was criminal in its execution. He sent the poor guy to hospital for goodness sake. So yes he should face charges. I dont know where the referee was looking when he thought it only deserved a yellow card.

yes definatley, it was as good as a punch. he didn't even look sorry or concerned for mendes. I thought Stuart Pearce was a disgrace for saying that the ref made the right decision as the players were going to fast to stop it.
