You can use a over the counter crem like monistat or you can go on the more homeopathic line and use Gentian Violet and put about two to three drops in a douche bottle this works just as good and it is cheaper(cost about $2 to $3 for a small bottle compared to $8 to $10 for a small tube of Monistat) I have to warn you the Gentian Violet does stain so make sure you use a panty liner if that's the route you decide to go.

If you are completely sure it is a yeast infection you can get the cream at a drug store. If you have never had one and you only think it is a yeast infection you should see a doctor first. Ad DO NOT listen to the person above. Most doctors want douches taken off the market because it can push bacteria further up inside you.QUACKS!

Vinegar douche. One tablespoon vinegar to a quart of warm water. You should notice relief within 20 minutes, but want to continue doing that once a day for 2 or three more days. That is what the doctor recommended. You can follow that up with one of those creamy meds, but what a mess! You probably won't need it.
Yeast infections are common in the following setting: Young female on oral contraceptives, antibiotic use for something unrelated like bronchitis, and sexually active. Take out any one of those risk factors and the likelihood of developing yeast colonization/infection is very much lower, but not impossible.
Try it, as soon as you read this, betcha feel better soon.

You don't have to go to the Doctor at all! Go to the drug store and get some lotrimin creme. They come in 1, 3, 7 and 14 day treatments. I like the 3. Immediate relief is granted but finish the whole treatment. In the future, try to eat more yogurt with live active cultures to keep your vaginal PH right.

If you truly don't want to go to the doctor (take it from me, I have had years of bladder and yeast problems) the OTC creams such as monistat are a good choice to try. Don't get the generic "store brand" but try something such as monistat, and if it persists, I do recommend going to the doctor. Believe it or not, I have had those creams and capsules work.
