I assume you have a check engine light on.
1. Take car to nearest autozone
2. ask the nice person to read the code (it is free where as the dealer will charge you $50)
3. Fix problem ( probally loose gas cap or EGR valve if the engine is running fine. )

I think you mean engine codes (check engine Lights). You can purchase an inexpensive code reader from most auto parts stores, they come with a booklet that tells what each code number means.

Open the book and read. If you don't have the book, look it up on the manufacturers website. Go to the library, they have all the repair books.
