I am starting with an ebay business, but within the next 5 years I would like o have a full blown Internet business. I already know what I will be selling, and several sources to purchase from, My husband and I have been in the industry for almost 8 years, in many different aspects. But neither of us have ever been involved in internet sales. We will also be opening a storefront, but in this day and age you can't get by without the internet side of things. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

First, let me wish you all the luck in the world to achive your dream.

Once you decide to open an online business the you'll need to decide on what to add on to your web pages.
1. Google Adsense: offers pay per click ads *but its risky because any invalid click may close your account.
2. Clicksor: offers the same pay per click ads..with out the hassle.
3. Bettertext ads...commission based ads/pay for performance ads. You'll receive a commission for sales that come through your web site.

Find a really good web designer to attend to your needs. Attend some great conferences to help you learn. Get active in internet marketing and search marketing forums and communities to learn from others. Hire a e-business consultant or internet marketer to help you plan and set the stage for what you need to do and are up against on the internet. You need to research heavily your industry or niche that your plan to build a business in. This will be important as you try to attract business and visitors to your new website. And finally, your in for a long haul, make provisions to plan ahead, learn as much as you can, be open to new things, and know this will not happen over night.

Lastly, be VERY careful to avoid any home business schemes or work at home ploys. These do not work. You can do this yourself with your husband if you try hard enough.
