Angeljerk is right. Wet a washcloth with very warm water and hold it over your eyes for a timed five minutes. Wet the washcloth with warm water as needed. Warm water is the very best thing for a sty. I'm guessing the teabag works because of the warm water. You probably won't need more than a day or two if you are persistent and use the compress three or four times a day. Don't burn your eyes. It isn't necessary. You aren't trying to sterilize the sty, just warm and soften it.

The best thing that worked for me was to soak a tea bag in water as warm as you can stand it and press it onto the sty for 30 minutes to an hour each day, and mine cleared up in about a week that way.

I had one on my eye 2 days ago and I just put a hot compress on it, and then took tweezers and pulled it off. It didn't hurt and it hasn't came back.
