about a week ago i got a yeast infection. i went to my doctor and was prescribed a cream which i was supposed to use for 5 days. yesterday i finished the cream and today i got my period. theres not itching or burning but im not sure if its okay to use tampons because i dont know for a fact that it is all cleared up.

would it be okay to use tampons yet or should i just use pads this month?

I would use pads because the cream is not completely out yet and if it stays there you might get another yeast infection. Especially if you are not sure if you still have it wait a little.

You should be okay using the tampons, as long as you don't feel irritated anymore, you wouldn't want to make the irritation any worse. I've always been a pad girl, unless going swimming. If you still aren't sure, just use the pads for now and wait and see how you feel after the period.

I personally dont think tampons affect yeast infections. If you still have it, I think you can still use tampons anyway because tampons dont cause yeast infections anyway. You could call your doctor if you are not certain about what to do, but I dont have any reason to think tampons would affect your infection whether its still there or not.

Yeast infections thrive off of dampness. I think that if either of the two is worse it would be the pad, because they hold dampness close to you. I would use the tampon.

I think you should just use pads this month.I was in the same situation before and my doc told me not to use tampons or have sex while using the cream.

You would be fine with either. Tampons do not cause infections, but they may be irritating due to it. If you do use them this month be sure to change regularly.
