I dont know why are rock stars always doing Heroin and Coke and killing themselves? And this isnt the roaring twenties no one has posses' anymore its called an entourage

They're really not...I'm sure MTV and whatever other media outlet you're into has you thinking it's a much more frequent occurrence than it is...
When it does happen, it's because of egos...One rapper thinking he's bigger and badder than another...
Sadly, all that gets accomplished is (this is rare) the rap world loses another talented individual and (this isn't) their families have to grieve and wonder "why?".
More often than both, the stereotype is perpetuated...

Because they are uneducated street punks who are using the ability to string together words that rhyme to make a dollar and because they are street thugs they believe they can co whatever they want with no repercussions.
