1. Death penalty is cheaper if done right. Not current system of millions of appeals.
2. Death penalty is only 100% sure way to make sure they never hurt anyone again. If only 3 prisoners escape per year and hurt someone, that is statistically insignificant....unless you or your family are one of the victims.
3. The death penalty is the only real form of justice for murderers. No amount of time equals a life, only a life does. If somebody steals $5 from you, you want the whole $5 back, right? Isn't that justice? They give back exactly what they took. So what if they take something that can't be replaced? Justice dictates that they be deprived of the exact same thing.

It's not cheaper by any stretch. Every inmate on death row or maximum security lives it up on our tax money every day. We are paying for their lodging, clothing and food.
The thing that disturbs me is not executing death row inmates quicker. That way, we can just have an assembly line of executions until there will be no criminals left that deserved to die, that were rightfully convicted of the crimes.

well it's not cheaper in the long run if you do the math, room and board for like what 40+ years, a lot more expensive than the court system for a few years. Plus if they are put to death, they can't win in a court of appeas, then can;t repeat the offense

It's not really cheaper. At that point you have to pay for food, water, and the occasional replacement of prison clothes for the rest of that person's life. What if they live for a really long time? That money adds up. Plus, at that point the prisoners would take up a considerably large amount of space and prisons are full enough as it is.

I have the ultimate punishment.
Give the perp a choice. Death or ride the Disney "It's a Small World" for 18 hours a day for the rest of your life.

It is a fate worse than death. It makes people go crazy. Some people call it cruel and in the Constitution we said no cruel punishments.

It's only cheaper because the death penalty isn't appropriately and expediently used.
Quite frankly, some crimes require death, for justice to be truly served.

The prisoner didn't think of the sanctity of anyone else's life when he took someone elses life, why should we spare his? A life for a life. why support some scum for the rest of thier life, lethal injection and be done.
