Great question. If the Bears had a better QB, they might just win the whole thing. They are likely to make the playoffs anyway in my opinion. If they had Steve McNair or Drew Brees, for example, I could see them in the SB now. Unfortunately, they will probably struggle offensively again this year. Benson could give the running game a big boost if he remains healthy. I also think Grossman could be a lot better than Orton if he can stay in the lineup all year. Grossman was good at Florida, but that is ancient history now. I still think he can get the job done if he is healthy. If he doesn't perform this year, I think it is time for the Bears to go shopping for an experienced performer via the trade or free-agent signing route.

The back-up quarterback is always the most wanted guy when the #1 is playing bad. The fact is Grossman was drafted to be the #1 guy 3 years ago, and the management has to give him that shot. It all about the money.
Why else would you replace a rookie QB last year that won 10 games?

Brian Griese will start at sometime this year for the Bears, either because of an injury to Grossman or because he will actually get to play enough to show that he has no talent. Griese will then play fairly well for a couple of weeks and tantalize all of the Bear fans going into the offseason. Then Griese will start to act like a jerk and manage to get bounced from Chicago like he did from Denver and Tampa.

Here is my advice for Bears fans, cheer hard for your defense and watch them be one of the best in the league again. Then when your offense is on the field close you eyes and pray that the offense does not allow the opposing defense to score. There will come a season where the Bears' defense and special teams will actually outscore the offense for the entire year.

Brian Griese will be the starter, no doubt. He is a much more savvy veteran and once he learns the system he will be in there. Grossman is good just to keep from making mistakes because the D doesnt give up anything. Griese will make the Offense just that much better.

the bears have a high payroll and it is hard to find a good QB that teams are willing to trade (a QB is always one of the most valuable players on a team)

I do not have the time nor effort to begin addressing the issues with the Chicago Bears.....

Best of wishes to another brave patriot to embark on the journey
