jealousy is often immaturity and unhappiness with self. don't expect more from someone than they can actually give you. if that person is jealous, just realize that it has nothing to do with you and they are jealous by nature.

I don't think anyone really knows the answer to his question. I myself have a friend who is bad for this...For example, I went to college right out of college but then quit after 1 year...I recently went back *3 years later* and felt really good about myself...I was proud of myself and actually excited about getting an education..While talking to my friend on the phone something got brought up about college and she had nothing positive at all to say about it...It was all negative...Not "well I'm glad that you went back" nothing...I myself don't understand this either...I think its just the fact that someone isn't happy with their own life so they cant be happy for anyone else either...

Human nature, really.
There is a famous quote that says something like "when a friend succeeds we die a little inside." (I can't recall who said this...)
I don't know if it is true - I am normally very happy when good things happen to my friends. Maybe if someone is not happy in life, they tend to feel bad / sorry for themselves if their friend is happy. But, everyone must remember the grass is always greener and no one is always totally happy. That's not how life works.
Hopefully this is helpful!

There are too many people like friends, co worker who are extrememely jealous with beautiful women, these people are either fat, too skinny, or ugly..... these people are insecured, then don't get attention from others, and the results., they want to get revenge, like creating bad gossips , on the other hand, these jealous women can't sleep, all they can think of is to get revenge, by destroying these beautiful women.....

Based on the truth, my friend, there is no friend, but still one can discover their true picture, when one hits a bump on the road. Would you hide away a friend in your attic AFTER you called that friend the last resting place in the whole world, you discover the law is looking for the guy or gal for over 100 serious counts? would you? while in life, you told again and again you were that person's best friend??? eh? Jealousy come next.:) No friend can ever be jealous. You give them an island in gift, they will ask for the island next to it, after that they will ask you for the whole world. ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.

Plain and simple they feel like the more you achieve the less they will have. Or they may think it will change the friendship and that actually hurts their feelings. Then again it can always be the insecure thing and hey that's their problem not yours. Do your thing and be good at.

I would love to know the answer to this myself. I have a large group of "so called friends" that I hang out with almost every weekend, and as long as I am doing for them, everything is ok. Well, we started building a house, and I am proud of it, it is huge, 7,000 sq. ft...but none of these friends of mine will say one good thing to me about it. They will go on and on about other people we know that are building houses half mine's size, but not a word about mine. I have one friend who was about to die for a mustang that was at our local dealership, well, I went and bought it........now he finds everything in the world wrong with mustangs......just overlook jealously like I do, cause if I didn't overlook it, I wouldn't be speaking to anyone in my town.....Tell them all to eat their hearts out next time
