I think the best way of making friends is to get out there and start talking to as many people as you meet: as you are indian, i am assuming you are a Hindu, or a Sikh (by your name) - there are so many colourful and festive get togethers in Temples...try making friends at these occassions whenever you get the chance
I dont think the internet is a good way of making friends...because you dont know if the person you are talking to is the person they are saying they are....so be careful
