For me, its my dad. I mean I love him and everything, he's a good guy, but he does not know how to communicate with me. Like I barely talk to him, one or two words here or there. Today, it was kinda painful, I went with him to run some errands, (doesnt speak much english) and then he wanted to sit down and eat with me. For the first few minutes, I kinda wanted to run outta there, so uncomfortable. He just doesn't know how to talk to me, therefore we don't get along.

I feel for you. I went through the same thing growing up and still to this day don't have a close relationship with my Father.

Growing up I felt like he never supported any of my decisions or was proud of any of my accomplishments. Looking back on it I think he just gave me a little more room than my sisters because he knew I could do things on my own.

We speak to each other a little more now that I understand him more. I realized that he and I are a lot a like, very stubborn. Give it time hopefully things will work out. Good luck.

I get along with both of mines. Maybe you should sit your dad down and tell him how you feel.

My dad is an old fashioned Sicilian. He is never happy and never sees the happy and good side of things. He always looks for the gloom and doom. I always worry abut what he is going to say and the comments he'll make. I am never good enough for him.

My dad was like yours. I loved him, but he didn't know how to communicate with his kids. He felt uncomfortable, I think. But my mother is self-centered and selfish and I don't like her very much.

My parents have passed away. Both abandoned my brother and I; one physically and one emotionally. Time, understanding, and forgiveness is an amazing healer. I'm free and I love them both; not because of how they behaved but because of who I am. Enjoy the small moments you have with your parents and learn from them.

It seems to go back and forth. For awhile, I am constantly arguing with my Mom, then we will be getting along fine, and my Dad and I will be constantly fighting.

I get along better with my dad. I only get along with mom at a distance or with little communication. I also get along great with my inlaws.
