I took a pregnancy test and for a few minutes it was barley positive, then after bout 3 or 4 min negative, why?

That has happened to me before, too. The best bet is to take another test & see what happens. It could be that you are just barely pregnant & there isn't a lot of the HCG hormone in your urine yet. If it happens again, wait a few days & retest.

Ok, I'm going to tell you what happened with me with ALL 3 of my pregnancies, but this being said, you should still take another test first thing in the morning b/c what is right for one isn't always right for another.
With all 3 of my children I tested a few days after my period was supossed to be due. The tests were always so faintly positive that it was really hard to tell that there was even a positive sign there. I waited a few days and the positive got darker and darker. I would wait a few days and see if the same applies for you.

Read the directions. After several minutes the test results can appear to change. Only trust results that show during the appropriate time frame according to the directions.

Most hpt are the same. The directions read that if it show two lines (even faintly) then you are pregnant. But there is a very very slight chance that it could be a fasle positive. Take another to be on the safe side.

maybe it was a bad pregnancy test... The results on the pregnancy test are only valid for a cerain amount of time read all the paperwork that comes with it and take another one!! good luck!

Read the directions. Most of them say that after 10 minutes, the results are inconclusive. You are pregnant if it said that you are, as that line won't show up at all if you aren't.

if the line (that indicates pregnany) shows up at all then you are indeed preggers! Your body does not make HgC unless you are preggers and that is what the ept tests for!

Just go to Gyn... more accurate & you'll spend a fortune on hp tests!!
