I read about Hyperinflation in Zimbabwe, the govenrment has recently removed 3 zeroes from their currency. People carry bags full of bills to pay for cheap wares.

2 years ago Turkey had to remve 6 zeroes from their currency.

In germany hyperinflation also happened during Weimer republic, prices changed every few hours.

Could hyperinflation happen in the USA?

no, not anytime soon anyway. When Mexico did it the people Had a hard time adjusting to it and their back in the same kind of debt again. I mean even if they only took away one zero from our money a dollar would become what 10 cents and that would completely remove the pennies from our currency. that would be weird.

Yes. The following could happen. Think of the amount of the National Debt. Think how how many dollars are being held by China, Japan and Saudi Arabia in government treasury bonds. If those three nations on a given day, say 15 September issued sell orders to their brokers, mortgages, car loans and most credit would either disappear overnight or the percentage would be so high most people could not afford to pay the payments. Yes. It could happen. Inflation in the 1970s had two causes: rises in energy prices and the US government paying for the Vietnam War by printing more money and devaluing the currency. I leave it to you to draw the historical parallel.
