what is 'more' correct/PC/appropriate: Hispanic or Latino communities?

Hispanic is the proper terminology. Its like Caucasian. But Latino is like White.

So to be proper online I would say Hispanic.

As someone from South America, I have always been annoyed by the term "Hispanic", used to identify a conglomerate of cultures that have little in common beyond a mother tongue.

I don't like either term, frankly, but Latino is good enough. Hispanic should be used when having to describe a group that includes Central Americans, "Hispanics" from the Caribbean (Dominicans, etc.)

That being said, I don't think any "Hispanics" would be that offended by the use of either term, it's simply a minor preference.

Well, I don't know. Some groups will say Hispanic, others will say Latino. And if you use the "wrong" term, people tend to get mad and offended. I don't see the big deal. I think that both are correct. I read an article on this topic and it came to the conclusion that both terms are correct. So I don't know.... I think I hear a reference more to the word Latino though.....

They are two different types of people. Think this out here buddy... HiSPANic or LATINo. One set has Spanish decent and one had Latin decent. It depends on who you are talking to.

Both when referring to those of Spanish ancestry Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Neither when referring to Mexicans, their ancestors are inca's and aztecs descendants of Native North Americans.
