If you're stressed the baby is stressed. If it's the hormones causing the tears your baby is fine.

I'm really not shure about that, but I can tell you that when I was pregnant I suffer a lot and cry and now my baby got autism. Im not shure if suffer and cry cause it, but there's a lot of doctors that say "All of you fealings during the pregnancy are transmited to the baby and can cause the baby to have some behavior problems in the future, but as other people had told you if your crying is caused by hormonal changes, then It wont hurt the baby in anyway. I hope that your crying is hormonal thin and not that somebody is making you suffer, I know what it feels. So please think in your baby that is about to born and that will make you very happy.

Hello. Well sure it can. The fetus is susceptible to everything that happens to it's life giver. The meals you eat are absorbed by the baby through you and emotions are received the same way. Studies have shown that if a mother reads aloud or listens to music daily or any number of activities , then the child will have received the education well before entering school. The sounds are felt and somehow understood by the fetus who actually remembers what it has learned during the nine month sabbatical. So if loud arguments and shouting with a lot of crying is what you are involved with then you can be sure that the child knows it is happening. Who's to say(perhaps a doctor) what negative effects the child will bring into the world with its birth. I assume that the positive effects and negative trauma are gained equally. Better to be happy and eat good foods , especially things that you don't like but you know are good for you.

Hi Judy,
Please talk to your doctor about this. I was really stressed out and crying a lot when I was pregnant. Your emotions will NOT transmit to the baby. You would have to be under extreme and constant amounts of stress to hurt the baby, and most people never experience that level of anxiety.

You are not going to hurt your baby by crying or being upset, even for a long time. Ask your doctor.

Crying is apart of being pregnant, it will happen and it's okay to do so. But feelings you feel may be passed on to the fetus, which can be unhealthy emotionally, not physically.

If you are crying because you are stressed, you must do something to ease yourself. That is a potential problem for the baby as it can hurt it physically.

Have a happy pregnancy and a healthy birth!

Being pregnant can cause one to cry. Women go thorugh an emotional rollercoaster when pregnant. While crying doesn't really do harm to the baby there is a possibility that stress could. If you are stressed out and crying it could make the baby become stressed, however, it is only a possibility. I had a lot of stress going on in my life while I was pregnant and my son turned out fine.

NOW... I have ALWAYS been a crybaby. My mom claims I cried in the womb. My Mom says she was particularly sad, going through a rough time with my Dad during her pregnancy with me. I will cry at the drop of a hat, but I'm not depressed.
So, of course I believe that crying DOES upset the baby. I have also always heard this. Lastly, I have 2 books on prenatal care and birth. They both say that the CHEMICALS released during emotional times get transmitted through the baby's *neurosepters and they feel similar emotions and are affected by your pain, tears and emotions.
Congratulations on your baby and I hope you're happier.. . that is if this question is about you.
Like an earlier answerer said, please don't cry! We love you!

Not at all, I was very emotional this whole pregnancy and although I have not had him yet, he is just perfect. If you are stressed out, then you should worry. But having crying fits will not hurt your baby. But your baby may feel upset do to you being upset... Its going to be ok!!!

Good Luck
