People think they're easy to use because they were told that and they've never used anything else. I like the idea of not having to run some other program on my PC just to get music onto my MP3 player. I just open my RCA Lyra in "my computer" and drag and drop my whole library in (try doing that with an iPod). I also like the idea of being able to play WMA files (which is a superior format to MP3 and which if you use Windows Media Player to rip you have and which the iPod won't play).

The one thing iPod has going for it is it's endless supply of accessories.

There are countless MP3 players out there. Do yourself a favor and make sure you are an informed consumer BEFORE you fall into the hype.

Apple.
Temptation.
Hmmmm...is there a connection here?
Did Eve tempt Adam with an Apple computer?
Oh, the irony!

Well, not that I want to stop you or promote the iPod, but I've got a lot of friends who swear by all things PC, and worship the ground Bill Gates walks upon.
And many of those friends own *gasp!* an iPod...or two, or three.

It's okay.
You're not alone.
It's not your fault!
There is help...at the end of that earbud, which attaches to your new iPod, which is so sleek, shiny and useful!

If you buy an iPod, consider yourself much like a transgender person...you switch both ways!
The best of both worlds!

hmm, i'm not exactly anti-Apple, but i don't own any Apple products and prefer PCs to Apple computers. but you know what they say, "if you can't beat them, join them."

i've thought about getting an iPod before, but never seriously considered it. however, i'll be owning a nano in a few weeks. it turns out the car i'm buying come with a free nano. somebody, help! they're forcing apples down my throat.. just kidding.

Why not?

Don't do it because it's popular (so is Windows, not the greatest OS ever, as any Linux or Mac OS user would tell you.)

Read the reviews.

But you can't believe reviews, so...

Trust your ears.

Try them all. Don't know your city, but It should take you less than a day to audition the top 4-5 top contenders.

Ultimately, it's what makes YOUR ears happy.

It may or may not be the iPod.

Go ahead and buy an iPod. It'll be good for you. Once you do, you'll be blown away by its ease of use, by the simplicity and supreme functionality of the thing, by how well it works for you.

Then you'll get curious and play around with iTunes and you'll find the same attention to detail that Apple is known for. You'll love how easy it is to find, buy, and play any music you might want.

Pretty soon, you'll have a new MacBook, which, out of the box, can get you producing music AND movies for your iPod.

Or, stick with PC, continue rebooting a few times a week. Heck, by now you're muscle memory probably has you reaching for Ctrl-Alt-Delete in your sleep!

We have a Creative MP3 player. Works great, but it is big and bulky. My hubby's stereo in his truck is Ipod ready, which means you can control the Ipod from the stereo, so now he wants an Ipod. I can't talk you down, sorry, they are much smaller and easier to use.
