On the computer that the printer is attached to you need to open up the printers and faxes screen. Here select the printer, right click and select sharing. Set up a share name for the printer.

On the other computer you need to install a new printer. This will be a networked printer. You then need to enter the name of the computer and the share of the printer that you just created. It will look similar to this \\computername\printershare.

You should then be able to use this printer from each of the computers. It does require that the computer the printer is attached to remain on. You other option is to get a print server. This will allow you to print from all your computers and not have the printer tied to any one computer.

To access the computers you can choose to share directories and files basically creating a workgroup. Alternative would be setting the computer(s) you would to connect as Remote Host and configuring the Remote Clients to connect to it. On XP you should be able to configure the client by selecting accessories, communication the remote destop connection, else you may download the software from MS website. The host is configured by selecting System, Clicking on the Remote Tab, Checking the boxes to allow Remote Assistance/Allowing users to connect remotely.

Printer can be done by Checking share on the print property, from each computer install the shared printer (this would be a network printer so that option is selected during the setup)

Good Luck.
