It can be caused by a lot of things. The orthostatic pressure...change in position..causes your blood pressure to drop which will decrease blood flow to the brain and cause the blackout. I actually have been diagnosed with something call neurocardiogenic syncope. This happens just when standing....and affects young women. I was standing in line at walmart and fainted. Try drinking more fluids and not getting up so quickly. If it happens more and gets worse, go to your doc. Or, to make your feel better go now and get checked out, just to be on the safe side.

It is NOT called orthostatic blood pressure, it's called orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension. It's a condition of abnormally low blood pressure when changing positions. Avoid standing up quickly. Avoid getting out of bed quickly. Take your time and take it in stages. From a lying position, slowly come to a sitting position. Remain this way until you feel steady. Stand slowly. If even after consistently taking these steps, you continue to be bothered by it, see your health care provider. You might need a vasopressor to raise your BP.

It's called postural hypotension. Its when you have a sudden change in position your blood pressure suddenly and temporarily drops. It is usually caused by dehydration but can be a chronic problem. Try drinking some water and stand up slowly.

Low blood pressure and dehydration.
When you are dehydrated, your blood pressure with drop a lot when you stand up. The solution is to drink more water. If you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day and still have this problem, try drinking some gatorade. If that doesn't solve the problem, then it is probably due to something else - in that case, please see your doctor.

That is something you need to see your doctor about. Sometimes it's blood pressure either too low or too high. Sometimes it can be the heat. Just go see your doctor to test yourself. And...talk to your family. Find out if there's any medical history of concern.

Also, not to freak you out or anything... Spiritually there's a war out there between good and evil. I've read in a book call Captivating that describes these types of spiritual attacks especially women. They can come in forms of headaches, dizziness, and minor aches of the body.

It's called orthostatic blood pressure. You have a normal pressure while seated but it bottoms out or drops when you stand, hence the blackout.

Ok Twitty, you don't really believe this person knows what hypotension means do you??

When you stand up too quickly, the blood that carries oxygen throughout your body doesn't have a chance to equalize. Basically, your brain loses oxygen for a second. Once everything settles down, you feel better.
