How do you clean patent leather? Besides vaseline?

I have purses with adhesive residue and/or black scuff marks and misc. other marks.

Try rubbing alcohol or a Mr Clean Magic Eraser.

This is what some people have done to get rid of the scuffs

One site just said this:

"Patent leather can be cleaned with a damp cloth using lukewarm water and plain soap or Windex. Shine with a smooth soft cloth. Don’t get any of the fabric wet (like the ribbon bow)."

Go to the shoe store, or the shoe section of your favorite department store, and get a shoe kit for patent leather.
If you can't find what you want in a local store, just do a search on eBay or the web for patent leather care products.
