Well, you say that when you change him there isn't much pee - so I think the chickie that thinks you're "disgusting" is anal retentive and needs to get a grip.
Seriously.
It sounds to me like that's about right - and you don't want them to end up being all that comfortable anyway, so that potty training goes well when it gets to that stage. Personally, I would make absolutely sure that he's getting enough fluids - not being "very wet" might be a sign that he needs more to drink.
Have a great day, and relax :-)

When there was poop or whenever the diaper had filled up somewhat with pee. Huggies and pampers are so good that they can take more than one pee before they need changing (unless it's a lot of pee). They wick the wetness away from the skin so well that they don't need changing every single pee. If they already have a rash I would change at every single pee for just in case. Or if you are using cheaper diapers...they don't seem to wick the moisture away as well as Huggies and Pampers.

At that age, usually when they've peed a couple times, or about every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. For poopy diapers, I change them right away. Neither of my boys have rashes very often, either. I think if you're using cloth diapers, you have to change them more often, but all the disposable ones these days are made to keep moisture away from their skin.

it all depends on how often your child soils the diaper. If it is wet or dirty, change it. if not, then don't. It is also good to let them air out once in a while. i changed my son a lot. I will say that i had to change him more as he got older. But he was completely potty trained at 14 months. He was an easy kid. My daughter is 5 months and I change her diaper about 12 times a day at least. She wets a lot. It just depends. As long as the child is dry and comfortable, and no skin break down, then I'd say you're doing a fine job.

My son is 15 months old, and I change him probably between 5-7 times a day, unless he has a diaper rash...then I get paranoid and change him the second he is wet. Diaper rashes don't last long for him though...anyway, about 5 times a day seems normal. If you're worried about him not getting enough to drink (or getting dehydrated), offer a sippy cup of water or milk to him every 30 minutes or so.....my son always has a sippy cup of water sitting on his table (and he can only drink it at his table). Good luck, I hope this helps!

My daughter's only six months old, but my wife and I find it works to change diapers whenever they feel heavy (i.e. the baby's done #1 or #2). Even if there isn't "too much" pee in his diapers, just leaving them on can start a rash. Check every six hours or so, and you should do fine.

Not as far as I'm concerned your not. Disposables or cloth, any baby aged 11 months should be going through nothing less than 7-8 diapers a day, period.
Oh I know, I hear it all the time, "my baby wears Pampers and I only have to change him or her 3 times a day. Or, "besides, I can't really afford disposable diapers for my baby, so I change my children less often". Disgusting!
I would actually quite like to stick one of those mothers who has that type of mentality into a Pamper, or a Huggies, and let them sit in it for hours on end just to let them see how it feels. Let them see what an ammonia induced diaper rash feels like.
A wet diaper is a wet diaper, period. When a baby wets or poops, change the baby.

As long as your baby doesn't have a rash and he doesn't seem to be complaining then you are changing often enough.
Myself though, I prefer cloth instead of disposables. I don't like the idea of putting all the plasic, paper, chemicals and human waste into the landfills. It takes decades for those things to decay.
Even for myself, I'm incontinent and wear diapers 24 / 7, and I wear cloth just for that reason.

It is best to change them as soon as they get up in the morning and right before they go to bed. In between you just need to check periodically and change whenever wet or dirty. How many diapers a day will vary from child to child as well as from day to day. As long as you are keeping him dry, clean, and rash free the number of times you change him doesn't really matter.

I changed my babies diapers first thing in the morning (I never change during the night unless there is poop), then as needed throughout the day. I've never been one to change them too often. If the diaper is really wet or has poop, then I change it.
