Sure by all means learn! It is true that learning skills such as languages and music become more difficult as you age, but it is still possible. You may never be a virtuoso with the violin, buy with plenty of practice you should become skilled

Of course! Here is a community of violinists that could help you answer any questions you have about the violin or life as a violinist or random trivial violin related nonsense:
http://www.violinist.com

If you ever have a question, post it under Discussions. Once Laurie gets a chance to okay it (usually she gets on at least once per day) you'll get answers from violinists (and some fans) of all ages and from all over the world.

Happy violining, or fiddling, whichever you choose!

No one is every too old for any thing. If you want to do then try, if you fail well sell the violin....the point is how will you know if its too late if you don't try. If you have a real interest you should be able to get to your goal...and yes it will be hard and difficult but isn't that the fun part to learn how to play something...that moment of accomplishment ? So i say try, what you got to lose. have fun.

Absolutely, there's no certain age for learning anything. You could still learn something even when your a hundred. So have fun learning the violin

i belive you are at college...and at this point of your life you have to enjoy it to the fullest.anything related to violin sounds very cool but at the same time you have to work very ,very ,hard.let us say you practice 1 hr a day.i might take 2 or even 3 months to learn the basics.then you can perfect your skill as much as you want. also, at college level, you might not be able to spare more than 1 and a 1/2 hrs but if you are sincere at it,TIME IS NEVER LESS..................
