The main purpose of this answer is to outline why PETA is a terroirst group:
1- PETA claims that no animals may be used for human gain. This includes but is not limited too: Animal research, Meat, Honey (from bees), Zoos, Pets, Fishing and hunting. Dolphon Shows, Animal shelters, then like. Considering that 80% of all medical research is based on animal testing you tell me if research for curing genetic diseases ect and the working on the possibilitys of greatly increasing human heart attacks rate of survival is worth killing a few pigs. Pig insulin in fact is what allows all diabetics to stay alive.
2-PETA is a F'ing hypocrite. There senior VP mary beth sweetland is a diabetic who condemns the use of animals for hu man gain yet she uses pig and dog insulin. She says she needs her life to better the ongoing warfare for "Animal Liberation"
3-PETA scares the public, there is a right way to go about sending your message to people, throwiing animal blood on children wearing mickey mouse hats is not the way to do it. Fire bombombing MSU animal testing faciltys and freeing the animals is NOT the way to do that. And threaing to murder the family of Jerry Greenwalt the manager of the LA animal humane society because of his job is NOT the way too do it.
4- We cant give animals rights because with rights comes responsibilty. How will animals pay taxes and pay for commiting crimes???
5-Back to the hypocrite thing they claim to be ethical but how is destructive behavior and threats of violence (TERRORISM) ethical at all???? Plus in 2003 peta killed 66% of all the animals they "rescused" from shelters. The president and founder said that sometimes the most humane thing to do is put an animal to sleep.

So idk do they take it too far???

Absolutely. I don't mind the spoof ads of people who wear fur or the campaign to get people to go vegetarian, but a lot of the things they do are completely uninformed.

For example, in protest to mink farming, they released thousands of mink from a farm into the local wildlife. Not only were many pets and livestock killed by these voracious predators, but the local ecosystems were perhaps permanently upset.

If this wasn't bad enough, after seeing the results, they did it AGAIN!

On a more personal level, several years ago I worked at a large pet store. Came to work one morning and there were several teenage girls vandalizing the front of the store by putting PETA bumper stickers all over the front glass. They were also handing out PETA flyers decrying our animal welfare practices and yelling at passersby.

I read one of their flyers and began asking them questions about it (such as: OK, if this was the wrong reaction to a particular incident, what SHOULD have been done instead?). They had no answers and finally just left.

On the other hand, I think that lunch with Beyonce was just funny. She totally overreacted when she said she was attacked. I would worry if I donated money to PETA that they would spend that much on a lunch date.

Not really, but of course the FBI definitely keeps track of it...

The most recently publicized event was of PETA winning a ticket to have a meal with Beyonce, and asked her on film to stop wearing fur. That was not taking things "too far" in my opinion.

YES!!! I used to live in Norfolk, where their headquarters are, and every year the local rock station would hold a big fishing contest right outside their windows. Their building is on the Elizabeth River right in downtown Norfolk. My fiance and I went to see Ron White when he came to town, and a circus was being held right next door to where Ron was showing. PETA people were out there harassing the customers and waving signs. The police finally ran them off.

One time the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile came to the Racine zoo. They were scouting for kids to be in up coming commercials. PETA showed up and had counter words to the Oscar Mayer wiener song. It was just pathetic as they used little kids in their protest and got all the news media outlets in the area to show up and cover their side of the event.
They had that campaign on college campuses a few years back trying to get people not to drink milk- drinking beer was their solution. Oi !!!!
I prefer to think of P.E.T.A. as People Eating Tasty Animals.
Have a great day!!!

Let me preface this by saying I love all animals but PETA needs to take a look at the world in which we live and get their priorities in order...

yes, but i admire that they fight the good fight. i'm carniverous, so i'd never champion their causes completely, but i respect what they're trying to do and agree with some of their principles.

the bad thing: when i hear the word PETA, I think of that flatbread, and start to wonder what kind of delicious animal i could put on one with greek sauce.

does that make me evil?

They stand for what they believe in so in my opinion they do not take "it" too far. I support a lot of their views. I suppose in order to comment further I would need to know what exactly you think they take to far...
