I'm a parent so I totally understand. I don't like it when it happens, so I usually pick my child up and leave where I am at untill I get a baby sitter to watch them while I run my errands. My mother actually took my 16 month old to a movie (kids movie) I told her let me know how it goes because I would never have the guts to do that.
Just ask pollitely to have the parent remove the child or take care of the problem, that's what I would want somebody to tell me if my child was annoying.

I HATE IT TOO! I am a mother myself personally I think children should not be in a movie theather unless it is for a kids movie. I can say from experience if you displine your child in public you are scoldid by the public and frowned upon. This only makes kids worse. So is it all the parents. No, I don't think so I think society plays a big roll in it. Is it funny that a child squirms it hand out of it's mother's hand and runs like hell thru the store with the mother trying to catch the child? No, but there are idiot's in the store that will laugh so hard and think it is funny. What did it teach the child, it's ok do it again, even if you get in trouble, you got a good laugh.

Parents are way to tolerant I have 3 kids 16 13 and 2 I do with my two year old the same thing I had done with my now 16 yr old. If they start we leave I don't care if I am waiting in the checkout line after shopping for 2 hours. I put the basket to the side and we leave. Once the child is removed once or twice believe me it takes the fun out of it for them and I never had to do this more then twice with each child.

First of all, I HATE it when people bring their kids to the movies. Especially if they are watching an adult movie. Like, um, if you don't have a babysitter, wait til it comes out on DVD. I have two little girls, 5 and 16 months. I am strict with them. They were taught very young, that you act good in a restaurant, office, store, etc. You have to teach your kids good manners. It is the parents fault for the way they act. I mean all kids have tantrums sometime, but you need to teach them that it isn't acceptable behavior. They are kids, though.

The kids do this for attention or if they don't get what they want. My 2 girls do that and I end up having to walk out of a store and wait for my husband to come home for me to finish any shopping at all. I did see a mother one time get down on the floor and throw a temper tantrum to show the child what they look like and that child shut up so fast and tried to hide of embarrassment. Work well for that mom.

You don't have to be at the movies to hear them. just go to the local Wal mart store. I can't stand to hear the way some of them talk to the older people they are with I usually call them on their filthy mouth's & behavior. I embarass them as much as possible[ I do not whisper}.
first tell the kids excatly what you expect of them{or}
you will punish them right there infront of every
body if they want to "act" bad you will return the favor. then tell them that for the next weekdepending on the age of the
kids. there will no {cableTV} no{computer games}{NO phone} {no friends over} & if they want to push it you can & will extend it for two weeks.
Be firm stick to what you say. if you threaten to do something DO IT.
otherwise you have lost the game.
good luck JUDY

Yeah, i dont have kids yet so i am not desensitized to that awful sound. I really appreciate those parents who get their children out of public locale once their kid(s) start going off.

Once you took the power out of parent's hands to discipline their children, you are stuck with the results.
They say spanking is bad, to use time out instead, now you must deal with the consequences.
Spare the rod, spoil the child.
